Title IX Reporting
At the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ, we are committed to creating a community of respect, civility, and honor. The health and safety of our community members are a top priority. In line with this mission, we enforce Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, which prohibits acts of sexual misconduct (sexual harassment, sexual assault, and/or sexual exploitation), intimate partner violence (dating violence and domestic violence), and stalking at educational institutions. Acts of sexual misconduct and intimate partner violence are a violation of University of New 51¶ºÄÌ policy and state law. We encourage you to report any incidents of sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, or stalking and/or to utilize the support and advocacy services available to you.
Incident Report Form
This Reporting Form is NOT a 911 or Emergency Service.
Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. Reports submitted through this service may not receive an immediate response. If you require emergency assistance, please contact the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ Police Department at (203) 932-7070.
The Title IX Office will review reports submitted through this form following the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ’s Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Interpersonal Violence and Harassment and its Non-Discrimination Policy.
Please note that University disciplinary records are protected by a federal privacy law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
Please know that intentionally creating a false report violates both the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ’s Policy on Sexual and Gender-Based Interpersonal Violence and Harassment, and the Student Code of Conduct.
Mandated Reporters
All employees, including faculty, staff, and administrators, are mandated reporters, except for those employees with confidentiality (health providers, professional counselors, and pastoral counselors whose official responsibilities include providing mental-health counseling to members of the University community). This means that when you report or disclose information regarding sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, or stalking, the University employee will need to report this to the University’s Title IX Coordinator.
Confidentiality
You can make a confidential report to employees of on- and off-campus counseling services centers, health service providers, clergy, and local 24-hour hotline staff members of sexual assault crisis services and domestic violence services (see details and contact information in the On- and Off-Campus Resources section). All other employees are mandated reporters as stated above.
