An opportunity to embrace change and grow as a person.
A general examination of the role and function of the independent auditor in the performance of the attest function. Emphasis will be placed on current auditing pronouncements, the audit report, statistical sampling, evaluation of internal control, and the determination of the scope of an audit. Rules and standards of compilation and review reports are presented.
This course examines the basis and underlying framework of international accounting and taxation and applies those standards and theories to practice. Discussion will center upon the elements of global accounting from a financial, managerial, tax, and audit perspective. Highlights include the development and convergence of international accounting standards, taxation of transnational transactions, and quantifying and reporting financial risks such as foreign exchange and hedging transactions. The course also addresses a range of matters including transfer pricing, tax treaties, and tax incentives as well as other strategic accounting issues related to multinational corporations.
An overview examination of investigative auditing techniques, criminology, and courtroom procedures for the forensic accountant. The course covers both litigation support and investigative accounting, examining the practical aspects of these two areas, as well as many of the new technological areas. The course also examines corporate compliance programs to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Funds are available from federal and state governments, private sponsors, and from university resources. More than 85 percent of the University's full-time undergraduate students receive some form of financial assistance.

The University of New 51¶ºÄÌ offers a B.S. Accounting, M.S. Accounting and M.S. Taxation each designed to help students prepare to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam. Please note that students cannot earn CPA certification simply by earning a college degree. According to the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy () website, students will first need to determine where they intend to sit for the CPA exam, since the education requirements to sit for the CPA exam are different for every state. Most states require 150 total semester hours to sit for the CPA exam. Some state licensing board regulations include narrow educational requirements such as specific semester hours in accounting and business courses, and there are additional considerations such as experience, age and residency that must be considered.

While the BS Accounting program consists of 121 credits, the additional required coursework may be completed at the University through our graduate accounting program.
