Veterans Administration (VA) Educational Benefits for Veterans

Veterans Administration (VA) educational benefits help veterans, service members and their qualified family members with needs like paying for college tuition, career counseling, etc. Please see below the description of these benefits and how to apply.

Benefit Chapters
  • An education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty after September 10, 2001. More information regarding the eligibility requirements and applying for Post 9/11 G.I. Bill benefits is available here:

    To find out if you can transfer your Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits to your spouse or dependent children visit: . Please note the Department of Defense (DoD) determines whether or not you can transfer GI Bill benefits to your family.

  • Assists Veterans or service members who have a disability that was caused, or made worse, by the individual’s active duty service and the disability limits that individual’s ability to work or prevents them from working. The VR&E program offers employment support or services to help individuals live as independently as possible.   • Helps pay for school or job training to eligible dependents or the spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died while on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability, or who is missing in action or was captured in the line of duty by a hostile force, or who is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability.   • Provides education benefits to Veterans and Service members who have at least two years of active duty. More information regarding eligibility requirements and applying for MGIB-AD benefits is available here:

  • Provides education and training benefits to eligible members of the Selected Reserve, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard or Air National Guard.   • A government match program for educational assistance that is for individuals who entered service for the first time between January 1, 1977 and June 30, 1985 who made contributions into a VEAP account.
