University of New 51¶ºÄÌ Appoints Quinnipiac Executive as Chief of Staff

Longtime Quinnipiac University chief of staff under former president John Lahey moves to University of New 51¶ºÄÌ

The University of New 51¶ºÄÌ announced today that Jean Husted, longtime chief of staff for former Quinnipiac University president John Lahey, will join University President Steven H. Kaplan’s office as chief of staff, effective April 1. Husted replaces current chief of staff Gayle Tagilatela, who has served the University in this capacity since 2006.

"Jean has been an integral member of the senior leadership team at Quinnipiac during a period of remarkable growth and sustained success," said President Kaplan "I look forward to the many contributions she is sure to make in this position."

Husted started her career at Quinnipiac in 1997. She was promoted to vice president/executive associate in 2007, serving in that role until last year. In addition to those responsibilities, she has served as vice president for human resources at Quinnipiac since 2015.

As chief of staff at the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ, Husted will be responsible for managing and directing day-to-day operations of the president’s office, cultivating relationships with key University stakeholders on and off campus, and serving as secretary of the University on behalf of the Board of Governors.

Prior to her work at Quinnipiac, she worked at Iona College, where she held positions in institutional research and the provost’s office and served as an Adjunct Faculty of economics.

Husted earned a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Cornell College, a master’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois, and an MBA from Quinnipiac.
