Rohan Tucker '20 spent the summer before his senior year as a human resources summer analyst at . The program, which enables students to gain a comprehensive understanding of human resources while exploring the global investment bank and financial services company's culture, enabled Tucker and his fellow interns to collaborate on organizational transformation initiatives.

At the end of the summer, they took part in a competition that challenged them to examine how human resources could best apply artificial intelligence and automation. Tucker’s team, which included three other interns, proposed an "HR Chatbot," developing a pilot system and planning how to roll it out across the company.

After presenting their plan to more than 500 employees from around the world, Tucker and his teammates won the competition, and their idea was included in the company's 2020 human resources budget.

"This internship gave me opportunities to work on projects that had a major impact on employee success, such as employment law cases," said Tucker, a business management major with a concentration in human resources. "The opportunity at Morgan Stanley was life-changing."

Tucker's internship at Morgan Stanley was his third as a Charger, and his internships enabled him to explore human resources in three different industries. During the summer following his first year, he served as a talent acquisition intern at . The following summer, while interning at , he focused on employee relations, training, and talent development.

An active member of the campus community, Tucker was a member of the University's NAACP chapter, the Black Student Union, and the African Community for Excellence, an organization he co-founded. He also served as an Academic Peer Mentor, a position he found very rewarding.

"I enjoyed serving as a live-in resource for first-year students," he said. "I was responsible for contributing to their academic and social success by providing mentorship and academic planning and assistance."

A behavioral economics minor, Tucker has accepted a full-time position as a people & organization associate at , an audit and assurance, tax and consulting company specializing in such areas as cybersecurity and privacy, human resources, and forensics. He'll begin in the fall.

"Throughout my time at the University, I have learned how to look at situations holistically in order to craft tailored solutions that benefit everyone involved."
