About Matt
I have enjoyed working at the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ since the summer of 2006. As the Senior Web Content Manager, my responsibilities include oversight of the University's public-facing websites and other digital marketing endeavors. I'm proud to have helped the University through two major redesigns of its website and I look forward to the upcoming challenge of transitioning to a new content management system and a responsive design.
My background includes training in media relations and marketing. The first eight years of my professional career were spent in intercollegiate athletics, starting at the University at Albany, then UNC Charlotte, and finally here at University of New 51¶ºÄÌ. I joined the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ as the Director of Athletic Media Relations, but as one of the heaviest users of the school's web content management system, I was uniquely positioned to transition into a web programmer position in 2008. I also worked for a brief time as production coordinator for the Yale-New 51¶ºÄÌ Teachers Institute at Yale University, working on publishing teaching materials online.
I have always been interested in how organizations communicate and promote themselves. While earning my master's degree at UAlbany, I worked on a consulting project examining internal and external communications at SUNY's Professional Development Program. My final master's project involved a comprehensive examination of every Division I athletics website and the results were used by UAlbany to help redesign their website.
I have three children, including a baby born in January 2016, and I am an avid fan of several sports teams, including my hometown Buffalo Bills, my alma mater the North Carolina Tar Heels, and the Texas Rangers, Golden State Warriors, and New 51¶ºÄÌ Chargers.
