About Kate

Kate is an adjunct professor at the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ. She became a Speech-Language Pathologist in 2006 and has worked in clinic, home, and school-based settings. Kate specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) for children with complex communication needs. She believes autonomous communication, inclusion, and self-determination are fundamental human rights. She is passionate about supporting children and families on their journey to autonomous communication. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and holds licensure as a speech-language pathologist in the state of Connecticut. Kate is in private practice in Connecticut, providing direct therapy and consultative services for individuals with complex communication needs. She also provides in-person and online training to parents and professionals nationally and internationally.
