Apply for Financial Aid - Spring 2024 Prospective Students
In order to be eligible to receive financial aid at the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ for the Spring 2025 term all applicants must have applied, been officially accepted and matriculated for admission, and be enrolled in a degree program. Students who have an admission/matriculation status of "in process" or are enrolled in personal enrichment programs are not eligible. Federal regulations mandate that students can only receive financial aid for classes that count toward their degree, certificate or other recognized credential. In order to be considered for most financial aid programs, students must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis. Refer to the university catalog for detailed information.
STEP 1: Complete the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the University of New 51¶ºÄÌ School code 001397. All students applying for financial aid MUST complete the FAFSA.
- Priority Date for Spring 2025: December 1, 2024
- *Use the IRS Data Retrieval process to complete the income information sections.
*Note: Families should utilize the IRS Data Retrieval process for their 2022 tax information.
STEP 2: Submit any additional paperwork requested by December 1, 2024*
Additional paperwork - The Financial Aid Office will communicate with students to request any required additional paperwork.
Students selected for a process called Verification will need to complete a Verification Worksheet AND provide signed copies of the student's and parent's 2022 Federal Tax Returns. Delays in receipt of the verification documentation almost always delays the processing and disbursing of your financial aid. As a result, late fees and holds may be placed on your account so it’s important that you pay close attention to the information you receive from our office.
*Applications must be received, not postmarked, by the dates above. Applications submitted after these dates will be considered on a rolling basis, depending on the availability of funds.
STEP 3: If you receive financial assistance or scholarships (excluding student loans) from an outside source for the Spring 2025 term, you must notify the Financial Aid Office.
NOTE: Financial Aid applications must be completed, and loan applications certified prior to the last day of the term for which you are seeking aid.
